Outback Hawaii Kai

Cam and I were fortunate enough to attend Outback Steakhouse’s tasting for their new menu. In addition to a new menu, we were able to sit in one of two private rooms. For those that have never been to an Outback, not all restaurants have private rooms. This particular location seats about 15 in each room. On to the menu!

We were all given two drinks: a Key lime coconut-rita and a blue moon beer. The key lime coconut rita tasted exactly like a key lime pie and felt like it was a drink that would not stop refilling itself. It was so good but almost like a meal by itself.

For an appetizer we tried their Crab and Avocado stack with chips and a wasabi vinaigrette. If I could drink that vinaigrette, I would!

They featured a Steak Flight and four new sauce flavors ( I highly recommend the Diablo - I die for that sauce!) on top of a crispy mashed potato patty. Two of my steaks were perfectly cooked and one was way to rare for me. Still, all three were extremely delicious.

I wish I saved room for dessert because I barely finished my cake pops. They offered a cheesecake, peanut butter chocolate and carrot cake cake pop.

I’m still surprised with the service and quality of food at this Outback. If anyone is ever in the Hawaii Kai area, I highly recommend trying their new menu! We also found out they’re doing an unlimited shrimp menu soon!

I’m still on a mission to get that tousled look and I decided to try got2b powder. This one looks like baby powder at first and gets little sticky after your rub your hands together. You’re supposed to rub it onto your roots and work it down to the ends but I ended up just shaking it directly into my hair and working it from there. This particular product did give my hair some volume at first but then left my hair sticky by the end of the night. I would give this product a 4 out of 10.

Women Who Mean Business 2013

Happy Girls Day or Hinamatsuri! (Celebrating a little early, it’s actually on March 3rd!)

Cam’s dad dropped off some Fresh Strawberry Mochi from Made in Hawaii. Traditional gifts would be hishi mochi but who doesn’t love fresh strawberries?! Thanks Don!

This will obviously no longer be in my diet rotation after the baby comes. I just love sour candies - especially the grapefruit. Sigh, diet mode here I come lol.

Tried to alleviate the pregnancy pain by swimming and sadly enough, received my first sunburn since living out here. I guess that’s what happens when you work M-F and have shit to do on the weekends. I gotta start taking advantage of where I live :(

I started my maternity leave as of Tuesday and I’ve spent my time making prints for the baby room (in addition to other things.) I got stuck with the designs but I wanted something “home” related. I ended up putting all the cities/states/etc we’ve lived in on a subway style print. Can’t wait to see how these will look on the wall!

Paesano at Manoa Market Place.

We celebrated Don’s 60th birthday at Paesano, a small Italian restaurant in Manoa. With all the amazing reviews I expected a little more but it wasn’t memorable. Even their cheese cake tasted frozen and defrosted. They did have really good service so I can give them that.
