Living in Hawaii you’d think I’d have beachy waves and sun kissed skin. Unfortunately, I work full time and now have a lovely 2 month old baby so it’s a little difficult to get “me” time. I’ve been able to cheat that look with a little bronzer but getting that tousled look has been a problem. I found an ad for Charlotte Ronson’s A Perfect Mess in Lucky Magazine so I decided to try it out. Worst idea ever. It has this really strong smell - not really ocean/salty but just this weird scent. I was telling my friend that I felt like I was walking around smelling like seaweed. It also dried out my hair - A LOT and made it extremely tangled. So for $14.00 I ended up with dry, stinky and tangled hair. What a waste.
Happy Boys Day (Tango no Sekku) (端午の節句) & Happy Cinco de Mayo! #boysday #childrensday #cincodemayo #japan #hawaii #honolulu
Tomorrow marks Logan’s first week with us and I was expecting it to be a whole lot worst. I imagined under eye circles, Cam & I being at each others throats, messy house… All those things you hear about when it comes to being first time parents. Instead, I’m sitting here watching Predator, blogging and waiting for the laundry to get done and Cam’s at the gym. Same old Sunday chores but balancing a baby in between that. I think Roscoe’s having the hardest time of all. It’ll take a while for him to get used to the little one being around. If only it can be like this forever but who knows?
Thank you Cheeseburger Factory for this calorie laden deliciousness that I consumed earlier today while waiting for Cam at the food court. Say hello to Volcano Fries: Fries, cheese, bacon (not bits) and special sauce (thousand island).
This will obviously no longer be in my diet rotation after the baby comes. I just love sour candies - especially the grapefruit. Sigh, diet mode here I come lol.
Tried to alleviate the pregnancy pain by swimming and sadly enough, received my first sunburn since living out here. I guess that’s what happens when you work M-F and have shit to do on the weekends. I gotta start taking advantage of where I live :(
I started my maternity leave as of Tuesday and I’ve spent my time making prints for the baby room (in addition to other things.) I got stuck with the designs but I wanted something “home” related. I ended up putting all the cities/states/etc we’ve lived in on a subway style print. Can’t wait to see how these will look on the wall!
Paesano at Manoa Market Place.
We celebrated Don’s 60th birthday at Paesano, a small Italian restaurant in Manoa. With all the amazing reviews I expected a little more but it wasn’t memorable. Even their cheese cake tasted frozen and defrosted. They did have really good service so I can give them that.
The Punahou Carnival was exactly like last year. Filled with overly sexed Tweens, food and long lines. Two years in a row now Cam has managed to snag awesome parking inside the campus. Sammie came with us this year and we stuffed our faces with piping hot malasadas and I managed to drop a $3.50 hand dipped ice cream bar within minutes of getting it. Over all it was a great time and if you’ve never had a Teri burger from here, you’re missing out.
