My amazing friends stopped by last night to cook Cam & I dinner. They made this delicious potato, egg and cheese omelette thing. It was such a nice change to our normal fish and veggies meal. I’m also getting more use of my Nikon. (finally)
I also wanted to highlight the Island Olive Oil and the Naked Cow Dairy Cheese that was used for our dinner. I love local products! If you’re interested in the olive oil - check here and if you’re interested in the Naked Cow Dairy cheese, you can check here! The sausage was local made too!
It’s always a good day when you have all the ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies and you have an entire gallon of milk in the fridge.
Now if I only had ingredients to make actual dinner.
DIY Colored Sugar Cubes
I’m planning a Tea Party for my baby shower and decided to make these colored sugar cubes! These were very easy to make and I regret not adding flavoring. I bought these Casabella Silicone mini ice cube trays for $4.50 (2) on Amazon and packed the sugar in. Takes about 5 hrs to set and you get these cute sugar cubes.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp water
3 drops of food coloring
Mix together and pack into the mini ice cube trays. (You have make three batches to fill an entire tray.)
Enjoy!
Started on Roscoe’s Halloween costume last night. I’m pretty pleased with how it came out especially since the felt cost .26 each sheet and Roscoe’s costume used three sheets. I thought I would have to buy Velcro but I found some with the help of Sammie. Can’t wait to put this on him!
Boomer is going to be Luigi! They’re going to be so cute together!
Can’t believe I didn’t post this! Made this Devil’s food cake soaked in a creamy caramel sauce topped with toffee and violet crumble bits and fresh whipped cream. Seems like it would be really sugary but you can seriously eat a whole layer. It’s really light an creamy. I actually made this for Cam’s moms bday.
Guess what happened? Cam put it in the trunk and mini a water cooler felt on it. We ended up eating the smashed half before we got to the tail gate lol. Soooo good!
I made a Bavarian Philly Torte (which is pretty much a pie with a cream cheese filling topped with apples and caramel.) I’ve never made it before and I was really lazy when I was cutting my apples. As you can see, they’re sloppy. I need a mandolin. Everything’s homemade, just the way I like it.
Update on this torte. Holy crap it was so good. Like we (three people) could have at it in one sitting good.Homemade panna cotta with strawberries & cream. (only four ingredients, no baking involved and absolutely delicious)
Williams Sonoma slow cooker & Williams Sonoma slow cooker cook book creates this delicious herb roast. I’m not a slow cooker person but you would think 4hrs roasting should produce a very soft, cut like butter effect to these potatoes and it didn’t. Quite upsetting if you ask me. On top of that, the slow cooker emits the faintest beep when done. For the price of the machine it should be singing to us. Way to fail William Sonoma!
First meal made by me in a week! I’ve been sick this past week and thanks to NyQuil, Mucinex, plenty of rest & fluids, Dr. Timtim and amazing antibiotics, I’m kinda up and running. (Not really running but walking normally at least.)
On the plate:
Cornbread, braised & pulled chili beef, lemon garlic roasted asparagus with a cream sauce and fried potato slivers.
And yes I served it like that but Cam obviously got 2nd’s and it wasn’t as pretty.
