Sephora Haul - Benefit Cosmetics Review
I really thought I’d like Benefit Cosmetics. I was completely wrong. I hate spending that much money on make up and find out it’s not the right products for me. I know Sephora gives you the option of trying their products before buying but really?! Using make up that you know hasn’t been cleaned grosses me out. How many times have you seen a tween/adult use something without the sample wands? Gross right? Anyways, I tried it and here’s my reviews.
NYC Big Bold Mascara Probably the clumpiest and flakiest mascara that I’ve ever purchased. This mascara made my normally long lashes look stumpy and gross. The saying, you get what you pay for is very true. Especially for this situation. Pros: Cheap Cons: Everything. Clumpy, flakes, false advertising.
The Balm - Stainiac I got this lip & cheek stain sample a few months ago and when I grabbed it this morning the bottle was pretty much empty. I never used it, it sat in my dark closet and now it’s gone. Did anyone else have this problem? It’s like the product dissolved by itself. I was still able to use a little bit that was left on the wand and it didn’t do much. There wasn’t a rosy glow or that just bitten lip that you’d expect. Glad I didn’t actually buy this product. Pros: No weird taste Easy application Cons: Evaporated in the bottle Color didn’t stay and wasn’t noticeable - my skin is really light so it should of stained it. Even with the wand you still have to blend on your cheeks
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Got this sample in the mail over the weekend. It’s been out for a while but I finally got my hands on a sample. This BB cream comes in five tones (mines happened to be light/medium tint), no scent (I’m pregnant and have super smelling capabilities right now and smell nothing), and doesn’t have the glittery look to it. It actually made me look really pale and that’s why I didn’t post a photo. Over all it seemed a little sheer and I have a few freckles/spots I thought it would cover. Pros: Hydrating Even coverage - you can see where you missed spots SPF 30 No scent A little goes a long way Cons: Small bottle for $8-$10 (depending on where you go) Too sheer, doesn’t cover blemishes
Finally got my CoverGirl BlastFlipStick in the mail. I love being a bzzagent because things I was hesistant to try, I can not try for free! How awesomes is that?! Thank you BzzAgent. I think the colors blend really well together and I love the gold tones. You can add as much or as little as you like. This is the perfect holiday look! I also like the fact that you can change the accents with other lipsticks too. I thought this product would dry out my lips but it’s perfectly find and it lasted through dinner with out coming off. Be sure to get more info about being a BzzAgent here!

This on the go travel puff, which I expected to be more puff then compact power applicator was kind of a waste. I also expected it have more bronzing powder and I didn’t really see it? Has anyone else tried it?
Thank you @birchbox for introducing me to Pur Minerals 4-1 tinted moisturizer. I have never been excited about using a face lotion.
Being in Hawaii, its hard to find make-up that won’t melt or feel too heavy. My old routine use to be face lotion with an SPF, liquid foundation, concealer on some spots and then powder to set. Now it’s just this amazing product!
March Birch Box I keep forgetting to post this!
The March BB came with two full sized products, one sample and a hair tie? Not bad considering the Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint is $24.00 retail price and the Glitter Essie Polish is about $8.00-$9.00 depending on where you go! I also received a small sample of Peter Thomas Roth’s anti-shine mattifying gel. Over all my favorite was the Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint in Amused. It had this minty cooling feeling that was a nice pleasant surprise. Best part, cruelty free and free of other junk that makes my lips usually crack and dry out!
The orange hair tie was kind of random and I wasn’t really a fan. My hair isn’t that thick and it wouldn’t hold it up. Nice try Birch Box.
My eye hurts now. Difficult to put on, you need to trim them and they don’t fit everyone’s eyes (obviously). Cool concept but kind of a waste of time (money!) got it as a sample so it was fun to try it out :)
Kinda reminds me of 5th Element when lelu puts the Chanel machine on and the make up mechanically appears? Except not as effortless and pretty :(
Spent Friday evening at DesignU’s anniversary event at Bar35. Had an amazing time and helped Kini Design’s win designer/team of the evening. Yeah for me & Kini! Thanks to Christina & Bianca the hair & make up team at Hawaii Institute of Hair Design for creating that amazing Geisha look an Kini and Cliff for the styling. Also a special thank you to Kat DeLeon for asking me to model for the event. Super fun.. especially since I (we) won. :)
